Inside it is a robust powerhouse with a high powered motor which can sew up to 1600 stitches per minute – twice as fast as most domestic machines. And it is a flatbed machine, styled for those bigger projects such as home furnishing, bridal wear and quilting. Industrial quality tension control, variable foot pressure, a built in needle threader, a knee lifter, a speed control lever, a needle up/down memory key, LED lights (2 places x 3 LED), unique automatic thread cutter.

This is the ideal machine for the really serious sewing enthusiast who is looking for precise quality straight stitching at double the normal speed. The Janome HD9 has the easy-fitting HL type needle and an automatic underbed thread cutter, cutting both top and bottom threads at the touch of a button!! From the “Liquid Response” foot control to the pre-tension system, everything on this machine is built for high quality stitches at professional speeds. But while it gives you the performance of an industrial machine, it also gives you the quiet operation and sleek design of a Janome. An adjustable knee lift lets you raise the presser foot while keeping your hands on your work. You can even wind a new bobbin whilst sewing as the HD9 uses an independent motor for this operation.

With almost 11 lbs. of presser foot pressure ensures perfect equal stitches, even when working with heavyweights and for those of us who are occasionally absent minded, the HD9 includes a foot sensor to prevent you sewing before the presser foot has been lowered (it happens to us all!!)
