Brother SH40

Let us start by saying the Brother SH40 is lightweight and easy to lift onto the sewing table, yet the frame is strong and rigid aluminum so every stitch is perfect, even while stitching through multiple layers of denim or quilting many layers. The SH40 is a good beginner sewing machine that will allow the user to grow into a more advanced sewer, this machine has additional features not normally offered at this level.

The LCD screen displays the stitch number, stitch width, and length. Also which presser foot to use for the selected stitch.  Any of the 40 preset stitches can be selected using the up/down key. Choose from 5 buttonhole styles, 3 satin, 5 overlock, a mock antique quilting stitch, and decorative and utility stitches are all available. Use it with or without its foot control, simply press start button and adjust the maximum speed slider to suit your needs, of course, as soon as you plug in the foot control the speed can be regulated via the foot pedal as well as the maximum speed slider combined.

The stitch width and length are adjustable and the Brother SH40 sewing machine can sew at 750 stitches per minute if speed is your passion. The max speed slider can slow that speed to a steady 5 stitches per minute for free-motion embroidery or for novice sewers.

Loading the bobbin is a breeze. the quick set top loading bobbin is fast to insert and once inserted the thread end is cut to the correct length, ready to start your next seam.

The leD light is just above the needle lighting up the needle, presser foot, and fabric area. A small lever on the sleeve arm lowers the feed dog to allow darning or free-motion embroidery/stippling.

When it is time to rewind the thread onto a new bobbin, the automatic clutch will disengage the needle while the bobbing winder is being used, and then automatically stop winding when the bobbin is full of thread. A handy thread cutter is also located just below the bobbin winder for quickness, Brother has thought of everything to get you started stitching quickly again.
