New in the Brother embroidery range is the Innovis NV2700…a combined sewing and embroidery machine. The larger style touch screen shows the selected designs in glorious colour with many editing options available. Select from 258 built-in embroidery designs with 13 embroidery fonts and over 200 regular sewing stitches, with 5 sewing font styles. It has a large embroidery area of 16 cm x 26 cm and can sew regular zig-zag stitches up to 7mm wide; however with the unique sideways feed, patterns can be sewn up to 40mm wide!
Brother Innovis NV2700 opens many new options to sewers wanting to make the move to a computerised sewing machine. It has all the functions one would expect of a high specification, quality sewing machine, plus the ability to sew detailed embroidery designs on to quilts, cushions, jackets, jeans in fact anything. What’s more is that each design can be made individual to it’s own decorative project.

Also in sewing mode the Innov-is NV2700 offers and large selection a total of stitches 258. You can also trim thread ends at the touch of a button. Rise and lower the presser foot at the touch of a button or use the knee lifter. Set the maximum sewing speed, which is good for beginners or when doing free-motion embroidery, darning or stippling on quilts. For pre-programmed stitches, width and length can be adjusted. Memory function can store lettering for name tapes etc. Design your own stitch patterns or edit and change the built-in stitches and save for future use, using “My Custom Stitch” function.
In embroidery mode:
When the embroidery unit is pushed into place, the sewing machine is ready to embroider. There is a selection of 291 designs including floral, seasonal, animals, modern etc. 10 frame shapes and 14 border styles, then 13 font options. Designs, frames, borders can be combined and lettering can be added. Any PES file format embroidery design can be imported via the USB port, by simply plugging in a USB memory stick. Lettering can even be split into individual characters, then resized, rotated, repositioned or changed colour. Lettering can also be curved around a design, so company logos can be created. Designs can be sewn up to 160mm x 260mm
Whilst sewing or embroidering you will notice perfect stitches thanks to ICAPS..! What is ICAPS..? The Brother Innov-is 2700 has a fabric sensor system which continuously detects fabric thickness whilst sewing and automatically adjusts thread tension pressure to ensure an even stitch is of the highest quality, over different fabric thickness.
Ofcourse threading is quick and trouble free thanks to the built-in needle threader and top loading bobbin. We would recommend this machine to first time users who want to enjoy the creative hobby of sewing. This is a machine that would help the novice sewing skills improve.
